About Us
Montana Avenue Nazarene Church is located in the City of Cincinnati, in the neighborhood of Westwood. A God's Bible School graduate, Rev. Curtis Coburn, founded us in the late 1930's as a storefront mission church. In 1958 the congregation had grown large enough to purchase three acres in the 'suburbs' and built the main facility used today. In 1982 the congregation was able to build a fellowship hall addition.
Currently, the average attendance is 150 and growing, with about 225 folk calling 'Montana Avenue' home. We are a very friendly, welcoming church with a family feel. Our multi-cultural congregation includes friends from Nigeria, Cameroon, New Guinea, Ethiopia and Eritrea. We love to worship God together with a blended music style of traditional favorites and popular contemporary songs. We hold to the doctrinal beliefs of the Church of the Nazarene that emphasizes God as the loving creator, Jesus as our personal Savior, and the Holy Spirit leading us daily in a walk of holiness.
We have activities for Adults (men's and women's groups), Children and Teens with plenty of opportunities for participation. We are a mission-minded congregation, supporting missionaries and recently sending teens and work and witness groups to Mexico and Peru, twice.
Check out our web pages and feel free to visit our church very soon.
